DNTOX GmbH uses human cell models and enables artificial intelligence-based screening with in-house developed software.

The DNTOX in vitro test system is comprised of a set of multicellular test methods that are based on human neural progenitor cells
(hNPCs) and human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs). These cells are cultivated as free-floating or plated and adherent 3D spheres as well as 2D monolayer cultures. Our cell models can be used to study several key neurodevelopmental and neuronal processes.
We offer services in the following fields:

Developmental Neurotoxicity (DNT) Testing

We are using multicellular and multiplexed human-based 2D/3D in vitro systems to evaluate chemicals regarding their potential to disturb brain development and cause developmental neurotoxicity.

Acute Neurotoxicity

The DNTOX test system also includes test methods for acute neurotoxicity testing of compounds. By using 3D hiPSC-derived BrainSpheres differentiated on multi electrode arrays (MEA), we can identify different neurotransmitter receptor subtypes.

Computational Biology & Bioinformatics

We develop machine learning empowered microscopy image and video analysis and statistical software to quantify and evaluate DNT data.

Model Development

With many years of experience, we also develop in vitro test methods for other domains of human development, as well as disease models.
